Swim Defeats Crawfordsville

The Bulldog Swimming & Diving Team continued a successful road trip on Thursday, traveling to Crawfordsville and dominating the Athenians after road wins against Ben Davis on Tuesday. Both the boys and girls won 11 of 12 events on the way to a girls final score of 127-56 and a boys final of 130-54.
"This was a fun night," Head Coach Josh Saylor said. "The kids feel a lot of pressure during the championship meets which are coming up fast. To have an opportunity to swim some different events and just get up and race with nothing hanging over your head is important at this time of the season."
The girls were lead by triple winners in senior Grace Fulwider, junior Kierra Watson and sophomore Madison Kehr. Fulwider won the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke, while Watson won the 200 Individual Medley and Kehr won the 200 Freestyle. All three girls teamed with senior Delaney Krug to win the 400 Freestyle Relay, while Kehr and Watson teamed with senior Chloe Wittig and freshman AJ Moll to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Moll was a double winner on the night, as was junior Megan Wolf. Both girls teamed with juniors Clarice Cross and Brianna LaPaugh to win the 200 Medley Relay, while Wolf added an individual win in the 500 Freestyle.
Senior Tia Scoggan added a pair of wins in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke while freshman Kaylee Propst won the 100 Freestyle.
Junior Joe Ancel lead the charge for the Bulldog boys as a triple winner. Ancel won the 500 Freestyle, teamed with senior Albert Turk and juniors Kyle Baney and Jimmy Breedlove to win the 200 Medley Relay, and teamed with juniors Cameron Howard and Diego La Torre and sophomore Vince Partlow to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Baney (50 Freestyle), Breedlove (100 Backstroke), Howard (100 Freestyle) and Partlow (100 Butterfly) all added an individual victory to their relay success, while freshman Frank Schoemer was also a double winner. Schoemer touched first in the 100 Breaststroke and teamed with seniors Jared Krug and Donnie Spencer and freshman Riley Koester to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Senior Bradley Green won the 200 Individual Medley, junior Adam Moll won the 200 Freestyle and the Bulldogs also received strong performances on the diving boards, with a runner-up finish on the girls side from freshman Danielle LeClerc, and strong outings from senior boys Jacob Rance and Caleb Windler.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, January 25, hosting the Noblesville Millers at the Bulldog Aquatic Center at 2 p.m. Saturday will be Senior Day for the Dogs, so please come out and celebrate the final home meet and the accomplishments of the 15 Bulldog seniors: Aaron Brooks, Grace Fulwider, Bradley Green, Josh Hanlon, Delaney Krug, Jared Krug, Connor Lucas, Jacob Rance, Connor Rickard, Tia Scoggan, Donnie Spencer, Jess Stevens, Albert Turk, Caleb Windler and Chloe Wittig.
