Boys' & Girls' Swim Drops Meet to Zionsville

The Bulldog Boys & Girls Swimming & Diving Team traveled to Hoosier Crossroads Conference rival territory Tuesday night to take on the Zionsville Eagles. The powerhouse Eagle girls gave the Dogs their first loss of the season 135-51, while the Bulldog boys dropped their season opener 103-82.
"Losing a meet is never enjoyable," said Dogs Head Coach Josh Saylor. "But our sights are set on the state tournament in February. There were plenty of positives tonight to use as building blocks moving forward and ultimately, that's what these early season meets are all about."
Senior Grace Fulwider was the lone winner for the Bulldog girls, taking top honors in the 100 Breaststroke. Fulwider added a third place in the 200 Individual Medley and contributed to a pair of third place relays. Fulwider teamed with senior Delaney Krug, junior Kierra Watson and freshman AJ Moll for third in the 200 Medley Relay, while Fulwider and Krug joined senior Chloe Wittig and sophomore Madison Kehr for third place in the 200 Freestyle relay.
Moll and Kehr added a 2-3 finish in the 500 Freestyle while Watson finished second in the 100 Backstroke. Moll, Kehr, Watson and Wittig finished second in the 400 Freestyle relay.
The Bulldog boys were led by senior Bradley Green, junior Kyle Baney and sophomore Vince Partlow, who all touched the wall first in individual competition. Green won the 100 Butterfly while Baney took first place in the 200 Individual Medley, followed by Partlow in third. Partlow took top honors in the 500 Freestyle with junior Cameron Howard in third. Howard added a runner-up finish in the 200 Freestyle.
Baney and Green teamed with juniors Joe Ancel and Diego La Torre for second place in the 200 Medley Relay. Ancel (100 Breaststroke) and La Torre (50 Freestyle) added individual second places on the evening. The quartet of Ancel, Howard, La Torre and Partlow finished second in the 200 Freestyle Relay, while Baney, Green, Howard and Partlow finished second in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
The Bulldog divers were again impressive on the boards on Tuesday night. Freshman Danielle LeClerc, junior Madison Lesko and freshman Alli O'Leary picked up valuable points for the girls while seniors Caleb Windler and Jacob Rance finished 2-3 for the Dogs in their season debut.
The Dogs will look to rebound in short order, as the girls (3-1) and boys (0-1) will travel north on Thursday, December 5 to take on the Westfield Shamrocks at 6:30pm.
Thanks to all of the Bulldog Swimming & Diving fans who came out to support the team! We need your support again Thursday night against Westfield!
