Boys' and Girls' Win Against Pike

The Brownsburg Swimming & Diving Team returned to the win column on Tuesday night, ringing up a pair of victories over the Pike Red Devils at the Bulldog Aquatic Center. The Bulldog girls (4-3) climbed back above .500 for the season with a 110-75 victory, while the boys (1-3) shook off a tough start to the dual meet season with a resounding 131-54 victory.

Senior captains Grace Fulwider and Delaney Krug led the way for the girls. Fulwider, a triple winner on the night, picked up individual wins in the 100 Butterfly and 500 Freestyle and teamed with senior Chloe Wittig, junior Kierra Watson and sophomore Madison Kehr to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Krug added a pair of individual wins in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke. The girls also got strong contributions from junior Brianna LaPaugh in the 100 Breaststroke and freshman divers Danielle LeClerc and Alli O'Leary, who finished second and third, respectively.

The Bulldog boys dominated the meet, winning 11 of 12 events. Junior Kyle Baney and sophomore Vince Partlow were quadruple winners against the Red Devils, while senior Bradley Green and juniors Joe Ancel and Diego La Torre were triple winners.

Ancel, Baney and La Torre were joined by classmate Cameron Howard to win the opening 200 Medley Relay, while Baney, Green, La Torre and Partlow teamed to win the 200 Freestyle Relay. Ancel, Green and Partlow teamed with senior Jared Krug to close the night with a win in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Baney added individual wins in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke, as did Partlow in the 50 & 100 Freestyle. Ancel (500 Freestyle), Green (200 Freestyle), Howard (100 Backstroke) and La Torre (200 Individual Medley) all contributed individual first places as well.

Junior Chad Hale was singled out by the Bulldog coaching staff for a strong performance in the 200 Individual Medley, and the coaches also tipped their hat to managers Shelby Chaplin and Piper Lovett for all of their hard work on the night.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, December 21, hosting the Hendricks County Invitational at the Bulldog Aquatic Center. Please come out and support the Dogs!
