Two BHS Records Fall at IHSAA Regional Track Meet

It's a new track record!  Two of them to be exact!  The girl's track team traveled to West Lafayette last evening for the state Regional competition and placed fourth overall!  The 4x800 relay of Kirsten Gaerke, Laura Bess, Sydney Lesko, and Maddie Webster set the school record again in a time of 9:19.76, five seconds faster than their previous effort!  Webster also broke the school record in the 800 meters going 2:17.05!

Others who will be moving on to participate in the state meet in Bloomington on June 4 are Sibong Ncube in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 15.8, Laura Bess in the 1600 in 5:09.32, and the 4x400 relay of Rio James, Veronica Goduto, Webster, and Gaerke in a season best time of 4:04.35!

Others who placed on the night were Goduto, sixth in 200 and 400 meters, Gaerke fourth in the 400 meters, Sydney Lesko, fifth in the 3200 meters, and the 4x100 relay team of Florence Akinribade, Morgan Miller, Ncube, and Haley Johnson took seventh.
