Girls Track Places 4th In HCC Meet

The Lady Bulldog track team traveled to Lafayette Jeff last evening for the Hoosier Conference Meet.  Against the best competition the ladies have faced all year, they finished fourth just four points out of third place and 11 points out of second.  Hamilton Southeastern took the meet, followed by Noblesville and Fishers.  The 4x800 relay posted the second fastest time in the state and broke the school record in 9:26.18!  Laura Bess, Kirsten Gaerke, Sydney Lesko, and Maddie Webster outpaced the competition on their way to a convincing start to the meet.  Sibong Ncube followed by winning the 100 meter hurdles in a season best time of 15.5!  Others who contributed on the night were Megan Cole in the 100 and 4x100 relay along with Florence Akinribade, Morgan Miller, and Ncube, Veronica Goduto in the 200, 400, and 4x400 relay with Gaerke, Rio James, and Haley Johnson.  Bess and Webster, second and fifth in the 1600, Kerry Devney in the 300 hurdles, Webster and Bess, second and thirrd in the 800, Lesko second in the 3200, KJ Gaerke seventh in the 3200 with a season best time, Miller in the shot, and Ryne Carr and Katie Reinhart, fifth and eighth in the disc!This brings the girls' record to 21-3 on the season.
