Brownsburg Wins Inaugural Zionsville Invitational

The Lady Bulldogs took their undefeated record into a tough Zionsville invitational this past Friday and came out on top by five points!  A great team effort and well balanced attack was the difference as the girls only captured top honors in 2 of the 16 events on the evening. Event winners were Sydney Lesko in the 3200 in a season's best time of 11:14.75 and the 4x400 relay team of Rio James, Veronica Goduto, Haley Johnson, and Kirsten Gaerke finished out the night winning by a margin of five meters in 4:08.10.  Others who contributed were Gaerke, second in the 100, 200, and 400, Sibong Ncube, second in the 100 meter hurdles, Maddie Webster, third in the 800 and second in the 1600, Laura Bess, second in the 3200, Goduto, sixth in the 400, Megan Cole, sixth in the 200, Florence Akinribade, seventh in the 100, Sara Tate, eighth in the 100 meter hurdles, Kerry Devney and Jolori Schafer, fifth and seventh in the 300 meter hurdles, Akinribade, Morgan Miller, Ncube, and Brandi Neal, fourth in the 4x100, Goduto, Lesko, Bess, and James, second in the 4x800, Tate and Caitlin Dressler, fourth and sixth in the high jump, Elissa Hall, third in the pole vault, Devney, sixth in the long jump, Miller, Shay Roberson, and Katie Glaze, second, fifth and sixth in the shot put, and Ryne Carr and Katie Reinhart, sixth and eighth in the discus.
