Girls XC Advances to State Meet

The Girls Cross Country Team will be going to the State Meet! The team competed in the Shelbyville Semi-State on Saturday and, in a very close race, finished in sixth place to punch their ticket to the finals next Saturday. It took an impressive and gutsy performance from the entire team to edge out Conference rival Noblesville by just 4 points. Leading the charge was Sophomore Brooke Dixon as she had a huge personal best time of 18:26 to finish in 11thplace and receive All Semi-State Team honors! Battling dehydration during the last part of the race Freshman Abby Lynch gave it her all and finished as the team's 3rd runner while still putting up an impressive time of 18:45. Gabby Bische (19:14) and Ali Ray (19:45) really stepped up for the team as each put in their second best times of the season to finish in the 4th and 5th scoring positions. Rounding out the line-up were Sophomores Emma Cougill and Cora Minkis who both put in gutsy performances despite battling physical pains. Congratulations to all of the girls on a great season so far and best of luck on Saturday!
