Lady Dogs Place 2nd

The Girls Cross Country team traveled to Ben Davis and competed in a very talented field of teams Saturday morning and came away with a 2nd place finish, just behind top 5 ranked Noblesville, but ahead of ranked teams of Fishers and West Lafayette. Leading the way and lowering her school record to an impressive 18:08 was freshman Abby Lynch as she finished in 2nd place overall. Junior Ali Ray ran a great race and achieved a new personal best time of 20:01. Sophomore Emma Cougill also put in very important points with a solid time of 19:47. The team will travel to Avon next weekend looking to keep their great season going.

 

The JV squad also competed tough and came away with a 2nd place overall finish, just behind a very tough team from Fishers. Leading the way for her 2nd JV win of the season was Emily Truax who kicked it in on the 2nd half of the race to move to the front and finish in a time of 20:36. Several other girls finished strong and achieved new personal best times including Irene Amalaraj, Morgan Spears, Maddie Feister, Isabella Maihofer, Campbell Adelsperger, Isabella Witek, and Katrina Leming. Great job to the entire team and keep up the great work!
