#8 Girls XC Runs to 2nd Place
The Girls Cross Country team traveled to Shelbyville on Saturday to participate in the Golden Bear Invitational. The girls entered the meet with an impressive #8 ranking in the State and put in a great race, coming in 2nd place, just short of #3 Brebeuf. Running in the hottest temperatures of the season the team battled tough and put in some solid individual performances. Leading the way was freshman Abby Lynch as she lead the race the entire distance and was the overall race winner in a time of 18:12. Despite the tough conditions leading to some slower times for nearly everyone in the race, junior Gabby Bische ran a new all-time personal best time of 19:47 to place 11th overall! She was backed up by Ali Ray (20:14) and Cora Minkis (20:39) to round out the scoring. The JV race was canceled due to the heat. The girls will be back in action this Saturday for the Conference meet as they look to head into the post-season with another strong performance.
