Girls' XC Runs at HCC Invite

The Girls' Cross Country team traveled to Noblesville on Saturday and placed 7th in the Conference meet. The race started out with some bad luck as Emily Truax suffered a mid-race injury after taking the early lead for the team. Freshman Gabby Bische continued her strong season as she once again put up her best time and lead the way in a time of 22:23. Allison Hering also had a strong race at 20:47. Sydney Montgomery worked her way up in the pack as the number 3 runner, while Brianna Channon came in just behind with her best time of the season at 21:41. Faye Jessup, Grace Esterline, and Olivia Zoog rounded out the scoring for the team.

In the JV race the girls finished just ahead of Avon to place 6th overall lead by Freshman Anna Boone who continues to drop her personal best time as she crossed the line in 21:57. Kierstyn U'Ren and Michaela Barrett both used strong finishes to grab new personal best times of their own. They were followed by Morgan Spears, Mackenzie Vondersaar, Mackenzie Barrett, and Madison Valentine to complete the top 7. The girls begin the post season on Saturday as they travel to South Putnam for Sectionals. Best of luck to everyone!
