XC Runs at Martinsville Invite
The Girls' Cross Country team traveled to the Martinsville Artesian Classic over the weekend and finished in 6th place out of 13 teams. Battling yet another incredibly hot day Sophomore Emily Truax lead the charge as she went out hard and finished as a medalist in 23rd place out of 94 runners with a new PR of 21:16. Allison Hering was once again right behind as she crossed the line in very solid time of 21:41, just edging out teammate Gabby Bishce who was 1 second behind. Grace Esterline jumped up to the #4 position for the team, while Olivia Zoog, Laura Sanders, and Rachel Graham rounded out the scoring for the team.
The temperatures continued to climb for the JV team as they finished in 4th place out of 7 complete teams lead by Freshman Anna Boone in a time of 24:55. Morgan Spears, Madison Valentine, Caroline Johnson, Mackenzie Vondersaar, and Alli Kent all had nice races for the squad. Good luck to the girls as they travel to Ben Davis on Saturday for what is always a fast race!
