Girls Race to 3rd Place

Girls Race to 3rd Place

The Girls' Cross Country team placed 3rd out of 6 Tuesday at the county meet behind the teams from Plainfield and Avon. In the varsity race Sophomore Emily Truax continued to lead the squad as she placed 5th out of the 31 runners. Senior Allison Hering came in just behind with a nice finish in 8th place. Two Freshmen took the next spots as Gabby Bische crossed the line in 12th and Faye Jessup in 14th. Rounding out the scoring were Olivia Zoog in 17th, Grace Esterline in 20th, and Laura Sanders in 21st. The girls will quickly be back in action as they travel to the Martinsville Invitational on Saturday.

Although the JV race was not officially scored the Bulldogs were a strong force taking many of the top spots in the race. Junior Rachel Graham had a great race lead the way as she finished 2nd overall out of the 114 total runners. Alli Ray, Mackenzie Vondersaar, and Kierstyn U'Ren grouped up not far behind with impressive races of their own. Also making it through the heat with solid races were Lily Cohen, Hannah Guy, Brooke U'Ren, and Madison Valentine. Nice job to all of the girls!
