Boys' Soccer falls to No. 16 Avon in Sectional Semis

The Brownsburg Boys' Soccer team completed their season on Oct. 7 with a narrow loss to No. 16 Avon in the IHSAA 3A Sectional Semifinal, 2-1. 

After an intense opening forty minutes, neither team could find the back of the net despite good opportunities. Avon's Matty Bullock opened up the scoring in the second half with a breakaway goal in the 44th minute. The Bulldogs responded quickly as Evan Frost answered the goal just a minute later.

The intense game reached its peak as a handball call in the box against Brownsburg allowed Bullock to capitalize on a penalty kick opportunity to take the lead. Brownsburg forced good opportunities to tie at the end of the match, but none could convert.

The Bulldogs end their season at 5-7-4 and 2-5-1 against HCC opponents. The team graduates nine seniors in Will Boulton, Roshan Gurung, Max Harris, Nate Heyen, Slade Hopper, Lucas Michalski, Shane Milner, Colin Porath and Dane Ritchison.
