Millers Pull Away from 'Dogs

The Bulldogs dropped the second game of their Noblesville series 5-4 in 8 innings.  The game started on Friday night at Noblesville and the Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead off of RBI singles provided by seniors Caleb Sampen and Anthony Travelsted in the 1st and 2nd inning.  Senior RHP Travis Mears held the Millers scoreless through four before they were able to sneak in two runs just before lightning halted the game for the evening.  The game continued Saturday morning at Brownsburg with the Bulldogs at the plate leading 4-2.  The Dogs were unable to generate any runs during the continuation, but the Millers were able to score two in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game.  After an inning and a half of scoreless baseball, the Millers scored the winning run off a single to centerfield in the bottom of the eighth.  Weather struck again, as rain moved into the area immediately following the conclusion of the first game and caused the final game of the series to be postponed until Monday.  The Bulldogs move to 13-9 (8-6 HCC).
