Girls' XC Runs to 13th at Semi-State

It was a good day for the Girls' Cross Country team and an even better day for Senior Julia Popenfoose Saturday at the Carmel Semi-State. The team improved on last year's finish by coming in at 13th out of 20 very talented teams. Competing for the Bulldogs Cassidy Brown finished up a great cross country career with a solid race as the team's #2 runner just under 20:00. Sydni Montgomery, Brooke U'Ren, Emily Truax, Olivia Zoog, and Laura Sanders all put in important finishes to help team finish the successful season on a high note. However, the season goes on for Julia Popenfoose as she was a top 10 individual qualifier, punching her ticket to the State Finals next weekend in Terre Haute! This impressive outcome came courtesy of a very determined effort in which every second and place would count as she battled throughout the 3.1 mile course. As she heads to the finals next weekend Julia has without a doubt earned her spot among the best runners in the State. Congratulations to Julia and congratulations to the entire team on a fantastic season and on all of their accomplishments!
