Girls' XC Advances to Regional

Girls' XC Advances to Regional

It's on to Regional action for the Girls' Cross Country team as they placed 3rd out of 12 teams, easily making it into the important top 5 to advance out of Sectionals. On a hilly and wet course the girls ran tough among some of the best runners in the State. Placing 3 runners in the top 10 the Bulldogs were lead once again by Julia Popenfoose in 5th place overall as she edged out the competition with a strong finishing kick down the final stretch. Cassidy Brown and Sydni Montgomery were right behind as they picked up important 8th and 9th place finishes among some great competition. Brooke U'Ren made up lots of ground over the second half of the course finishing as the team's 4th runner. Emily Truax ran a gutsy race and rounded out the top 5 for the girls, with Laura Sanders and Olivia Zoog also putting in a solid race of their own to make sure the girls would move on in the tournament. The team will continue their post season run as they now head to the Ben Davis Regional on Saturday. Congratulations to the entire team on a great day!
