Lady Dog's Place 6th at Invite

The Girls' Cross Country team put in a good showing Saturday at the Martinsville Invitational as they placed 6^thout of 14 teams. The top 3 Dogs medaled in the top 21 spots out of 100 total girls and showed huge improvement as Cassidy Brown placed 13^th covering the 3.1  miles in 20:14, Julia Popenfoose came in at 16^th in 20:25, and Allison Hering was close behind at 21^st in a time of 20:57. Alex Smock put in a great race for her first ever 5k as she finished 4^th for the team in an impressive time of 22:06. Freshman Rachel Graham had the finish of the day as she cruised by 5 girls at the finish in a time of 23:23.   In the JV race Sophomore Alli Kent showed the results of her hard work as she set a personal best time of 24:24. Coming in closely behind were Freshmen Grace Esterline, Olivia Zoog, Caroline Johnson, Samantha Jarboe, and Laura Sanders. Great job to all of the girls and best of luck at Cascade this Saturday!
