Bulldogs Begin Season With a Win

The season started on a positive note for the Girls' Cross Country Team on Monday as they competed against Mount Vernon in a Hokum Karem style meet, partnering up in pairs of two and alternating miles. Although it was a close race the Bulldogs came out with the win in a final score of 10-12. Cassidy Brown and Julia Popenfoose lead the way as they were the first pair across the finish line averaging miles just over 6 minutes. Allison Hering and Mackenzie Vondersaar fought off the competition as the fourth pair overall to finish. Freshmen Rachel Graham and Brianna Channon rose to the occasion sealed the victory for the Dogs with a strong finish in their first ever High School meet. Alex Smock, Laura Sanders, and Olivia Zoog were just a few other notable performances that have the team looking sharp early in the season. Great job to all of the girls on a great first meet and keep up the hard work!
