Bulldog Softball Beats Westfield

The Bulldogs clinched their second conference win last night against the Westfield Shamrocks to improve their overall record to 2-1 and their conference record to 2-0. Brownsburg started off a little slow, falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, only to climb their way back to a 14-5 win. The bats were on fire throughout the night for the Bulldogs combining a total 16 hits for the evening. Senior, Anna Carroll led the team with 3 hits. She had 1 double and 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Marah Wood also had a double and and 1 RBI. Senior, Ciera Casteel had a huge night at the plate going 2 for 2 with her first homerun of the season and 4 RBIs. Other Bulldogs who were hot for Brownsburg at the plate were Sydney Rodegheir, Mackenzie Bedrick, and Maddy Edwards.

It was a combined effort for the Bulldog pitching staff last evening. Sophomore, Olivia Calero threw a total of 3 innings, while freshman pitchers, Kaylee Larkin and Kelsey Endress both threw 2 innings a piece. Larkin would get the win for the Bulldogs, improving her record to 2-0.

The #19 ranked Bulldogs faceoff against the Center Grove Trojans tomorrow night on the road. They will finish the week with a double header on Saturday in a tournament at Warren Central. Go Bulldogs!
