Softball Defeats #1 Decatur Central to Claim Regional Title

Last night, the Brownsburg Bulldogs defeated the #1 ranked Decatur Central Hawks 1-0 in the Regional Championship battle. The Bulldogs fought their way through the entire 7 innings. The solo run came after Mackenzie Bedrick led off with a single to right field in the bottom of the 6th and eventually made it around the bases and all the way home from a couple hits from Anna Carroll and Marah Wood. The Bulldogs put together a total of 6 hits for the evening.

 

            The pitching circle was taken first by Freshman, Kelsey Endress. She threw 4.5 innings of the 7 striking out 7 and giving up only 3 hits. Maddy Edwards came in halfway through the 4th inning shutting down the Hawks for the rest of the game earning the win for the Bulldogs. The two-underclassman dominated together to clinch a 1-0 shutout and a Regional Championship for the Bulldogs. Brownsburg will play in the semi-state tournament on Saturday. Their first game will be against Gibson Southern at 1pm at Bedford North Central. Go Dogs!
