Softball Advances to Sectional Final with Win Over Patriots

The Bulldogs defeated Terre Haute North Tuesday night 7-3 to advance to the Championship game of the sectional tournament being held at Mooresville. The Bulldogs came ready to play and had a total of 9 hits for the evening. Brownsburg led 2-0 until the fourth inning when the Patriots scored to tie the game up. THN followed up the fifth inning with another run taking the lead over the Bulldogs at 3-2. But freshman, Kaylee Larkin came up clutch in the bottom of the fifth with a 3 run homer that put the Bulldogs back on top. Other Bulldogs who produced at the plate were Mackenzie Bedrick (3 for 4; 1 RBI; 2 runs scored) Anna Carroll (1 hit) Marah Wood (1 hit) Rachel Young (1 hit; 1 RBI; 1 run scored) Maicey Bedrick (1 hit; 1 run scored) and Sophie Bosket (1 hit.)

 

            Kelsey Endress started the Bulldogs off in the circle and tossed the first 5 innings, striking out 6 and only giving up 2 hits. Maddy Edwards came in to relieve Endress with one out to go in the fifth and struck out 3 and have up 0 hits and 0 runs. Edwards would go on to be the winning pitcher for the night. The Bulldogs will take on the Plainfield Quakers Wednesday night at 7pm at Mooresville High School. Go Dogs!
