Hawks Halt Bulldogs Tournament Run

The Varsity Softball team ended the season with a hard fought 1-0 loss against Decatur Central in Regional play.  Carlie Weaver pitched a great game, only allowing 2 hits and 2 walks.  Decatur Central scored their lone run in the 2nd inning with a lead off double, followed by a sacrifice bunt and a deep sacrifice fly ball.  Weaver struck out 9 batters on the evening.  Offensively, Lindsey Stahl was 2-3 and Heather Reed was 1-3.  Reed started what looked like a 7th inning 2 out rally, driving a line shot into deep right field to earn a triple, but the rally ended with Reed. 

The Bulldogs finished 20-13 on the season with a 3rd place finish in the competitive Hoosier Crossroads Conference and the 1st Sectional title since 2005.

Great season Bulldogs!  The team wants to thank the three seniors and their parents for their efforts, attitudes, and contributions to the program.  Krysten Wagoner, Carlie Weaver and Jessica Blystone, we thank you for the memories and for being such great leaders.  Good luck in all of your future endeavors!
