Orioles Sneak a Win Over Bulldogs
Brownsburg dropped another nail biter, losing to Avon 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Bulldogs were leading for a majority of the game, but a late Oriole rally proved to be more than Brownsburg could handle. Carlie Weaver was flawless at the plate with four hits in four attempts. Two of Weaver's hits were line drive doubles. Taylor Mendenhall was 2-4 with a double, 2 RBIs and contributed defensively with 5 put outs and 1 assist. Ally Carver was 2-4, while CeCe Ridgeway was 1-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Even with four team doubles and some timely hitting, the Bulldogs managed to leave 11 runners in base. With the combination of too many offensive runners left on base and a few Bulldog defensive errors, the Orioles were able to squeak out with the win. Brownsburg will travel to Hamilton Southeastern for their third HCC matchup on Thursday.
