Softball Competes in County Tourney
The Varsity Softball team faced three tough Hendricks County teams this weekend. Friday night the Bulldogs defeated the Tri-West Bruins, 5-3. Carlie Weaver was the winning pitcher giving up only 1 earned run, 3 hits and striking out 9 Bruins. Lucy Paczkowski lead the way offensively, going 2-4 including her timely HR. Ally Carver, Kelsey Reinhardt, and Karly Dickison each added 2 hits of their own. As a team, the Bulldogs outhit the Bruins 11-3.
After defeating Tri-West, Brownsburg faced Cascade, the defending County Champions on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the Bulldog's offense was quiet, contributing to their 2-3 loss. Carlie Weaver was the solo Bulldog with a 'hot bat.' Weaver was 3-3 with an RBI, but it wasn't enough for the Bulldogs.
After losing a close battle with Cascade, the Bulldogs dropped another game losing 7-3 to Plainfield. Similar to the Cascade game, the Bulldogs' bats were quiet, with the exception of Ally Carver who finished 3-4 with a double.
Factoring in the results from the County Tournament, the Bulldogs' record is 8-3. This week will be another busy and competitive week as they face Mooresville, Avon, Hamilton Southeastern, and three additional games at the Carmel Invitational.
