Softball Opens Season

Despite an explosive offensive start and out hitting the opponent 10-8, the Varsity Softball team came up short during the season opener verses Southport High School, losing 9-5.  Ally Carver and Jessica Blystone led the game off with back-to-back doubles to get Brownsburg on the board.  The offense continued a giving the Bulldogs an early lead.  Carver and Heather Reed had their first HRs of the season adding extra solo tallies in the board, but a few offensive errors combined with a few clutch Southport hits changed the tempo of the game.  Carlie Weaver pitched a solid game, surrendering 8 batters to strikeouts.  Meanwhile, Reed finished at the plate 3-3 and Ally Carver finished 2-4.  The Bulldogs will travel to Western Boone on Thursday for their next game.
