Eagles Better Bulldogs In Softball Action

Tuesday night the varsity softball team lost 4-7 to the Eagles of Zionsville despite some offensive fireworks.  The Dogs were down early, but Sarah Callis hit a towering homerun in the fourth to even up the score.  Shayne Zoller also parked one to lead off the fifth, and the girls kept the offensive attack going with two more runs in the inning.  A rough defensive fifth inning proved too much for the Bulldogs to overcome in the end.  Impressive offensive performances were recorded by Kirsten Bartlett with three hits, Tori Martin with two hits, and Kayle Comer with a clutch, two-out, two RBI single.  Rachel Fiscus did her job on the mound, allowing just one hit in her first four and one-third innings, and Comer did a nice job in relief, recording four straight outs.
