Back-2-Back Sectional Champions!

For the second year in a row the Brownsburg Bulldogs are sectional champions.  The Dogs defeated host Martinsville 61-57 in a shootout that saw both teams combine for 17 three pointers.  Brownsburg rushed out to early leads in the opening quarters of each half only to see the host team rally back into the contest.  The last minute of the game saw the teams combine for three timeouts but Martinsville could not create a good shot to secure a tie.  Jordache Mavunga secured the win with a free throw with .6 seconds to push the lead to 4 points.  The eight 3 pointers by the Dogs helped keep Martinsville at bay for most of the contest.  A day after scoring most of the team's points, Darrian Ringo, KJ Walton, and Jordache Mavunga again lead in scoring, but had great contributions from Landon Hall, Tyler Kirtz and Dalton Vachon.  The past two seasons has seen the Dogs win back to back sectionals and notch 20 win seasons.  Regional opponent and times will be announced on the athletic website.  Thanks to Dr. Snapp for providing pizza to the student body and all the great students who made the trip to cheer the Dogs to victory.

The boys basketball team defeated the Terre Haute North Patriots in the semi-finals of the sectionals Friday night at Martinsville.  Seniors Jordache Mavunga, KJ Walton, and Darrian Ringo scored all but six of the teams points but the Dogs got great contributions from Landon Hall, Tyler Kirtz, Dalton Vachon and Michael Fowlkes to help secure the victory.  The win pushes the Dogs record to 19-6 and into the finals for a second year in a row.
