Zionsville tops Boys' Hoops

Brownsburg hosted Zionsville Friday night in a HCC contest and another battle of ranked teams.  Zionsville came into Friday's game winner of six straight and fresh off a victory over Pike on Tuesday.  Brownsburg coming off a big win of its own over Carmel, hoped to end January competition on an upswing.  Unfortunately a hot shooting Zionsville team scorched the nest for 11 three point field goals on the way to a 68-59 road win over the Dogs.  Early a battle of defenses kept the game tight as Brownsburg held Zionsville to only four second quarter points but could only muster a 22-20 halftime lead.  Zionsville came out hot in the third scoring 18 points while the Dogs had a hard time finding the nets themselves.  Entering the fourth quarter, the Dogs had dug a 11 point deficit.  Midway through the fourth quarter the Dogs mounted an incredible comeback, cutting a 15 point lead to 3, but it wasn't to be, as timely free throw shooting by the visitors sealed the win.  KJ Walton scored 26 points in the loss for the Dogs.  Brownsburg opens the home stretch of the season with road games at Noblesville and Tri-West this weekend.
