Bulldogs Defeat WC in OT

After struggling for three quarters, the Brownsburg Boys basketball team found some fight and pulled a stunning comeback victory Friday night over Warren Central in overtime 65-63.  The Bulldogs lead after the first quarter 11-10 but Warren Central erupted for 20 second quarter points to take a 30-18 halftime lead.  Brownsburg struggled to find the net through the second and third quarters but their defense kept them relatively close.  Senior KJ Walton open the fourth with 2 quick baskets and a change in defenses forced Warren into a couple turnovers and quick shots.  With six minutes left the  Bulldogs still trailed by ten points but were showing signs of making a run.  Excellent efforts by Walton, Jordache Mavunga, Dalton Vachon, Tyler Kirtz, Michael Fowlkes, Landon Hall, and Jimmy Simms pushed your Bulldogs to a minute left still down, but only by three.  Walton scored his 16thpoint of the fourth quarter by hitting a three with 20 seconds left to tie the game. It was all Bulldogs in overtime as they scored the first basket and managed the game well with the lead.  KJ Walton lead the team with 42 points and 17 rebounds.  Great contributions by all players but Michael Fowlkes played well starting at point guard.  Dalton Vachon gave the Dogs a big spark in the third quarter and forwards Jordache Mavunga and Landon Hall were solid throughout and great when it counted in OT.  Tyler Kirtz had the assist of the game to Michael Fowlkes in overtime to put the Dogs up for good.
