Swimming & Diving Celebrates Senior Day

Brownsburg swimming & diving honored the contributions of the Class of 2012 on Saturday, hosting the Noblesville Millers on Senior Day at the Bulldog Aquatic Center. The Girls finished their regular season at 7-4, falling to the Millers 118-62, while the Boys (5-3) saw their five meet winning streak snapped with a 110-75 loss. While the Dogs wound up on the wrong side of the score, the day was a celebration of six seniors: Elizabeth Ancel, Brian Collins, Joel Paquin, Joe Perkins, Ryan Saunders and Emily Young. Senior Joel Paquin, sophomore Bradley Green and freshman Diego LaTorre were all winners for the Dogs. Paquin won the 200 Freestyle and finished second in the 500 Freestyle. Green led a 1-2 sweep of the 100 Butterfly with junior Kasey Cross and LaTorre won the 50 Freestyle and finished second in the 100 Freestyle. Cross, Green and LaTorre teamed with freshman Joe Ancel to finish second in the 200 Medley Relay. Ancel added a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke. Green, LaTorre and Paquin teamed with freshman Kyle Baney for second in the 400 Freestyle Relay and junior Grason Horvath picked up second place in Diving.

The Bulldog girls were led by sophomore Chloe Wittig who was their lone winner on the day. Wittig took first place in the 500 Freestyle and finished second in the 200 Freestyle. Junior Madeline Ketchem brought home second place swims in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly and teamed with senior Elizabeth Ancel, sophomore Grace Fulwider and freshman Kierra Watson for second place in the 200 Medley Relay. Ancel (50 Freestyle), Fulwider (100 Breaststroke) and Watson (100 Backstroke) all added an individual runner-up finish as did freshman Brooke Jaco in Diving.
