Boys' and Girls' Swim Split with McCutcheon

The Bulldog boys & girls swimming & diving teamopened the New Year with a split decision against conference rival McCutcheon. The boys rolled over the Mavericks, moving their season record to 2-2 with a 132-49 victory while the girls dropped a tough 104-81 battle, bringing their record to 4-3. Senior captains Joel Paquin and Joe Perkins were triple winners for the Dogs. Paquin picked up individual firsts in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, and teamed with Perkins, senior Brian Collins and junior Kasey Cross to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Perkins and Collins teamed with sophomore Grant Anspach and freshman Joe Ancel to win the 200 Medley Relay, and teamed with freshmen Kyle Baney and Diego LaTorre to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Anspach (100 Freestyle), Cross (100 Breaststroke) and LaTorre (100 Backstroke) added individual firsts to their relay wins to finish the night as double winners. Junior Will Berryman led a 1-2-3 sweep of diving with junior Grason Horvath and senior Ryan SaundersSenior captain Elizabeth Ancel and junior Madeline Ketchem were double winners for the Bulldog girls. Individually, Ancel won the 50 Freestyle and Ketchem won the 100 Butterfly. Ancel and Ketchem teamed with sophomores Grace Fulwider and Chloe Wittig to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The Bulldogs return to action this Saturday, January 7 at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at Noblesville. Diving begins at 9 a.m. while swimming gets underway at 10 a.m.
