Boys' and Girls' Swim Drop Meet to Zionsville

The Bulldog Swimming & Diving Teams braved the snow and rain Tuesday, traveling north for a dual meet with state powerhouse Zionsville. The Eagles were a tougher opponent than the weather, however, and defeated the Bulldog Girls (135-50) and Boys (119-67).

The Bulldog Boys hit the wall first in three events, with senior Joel Paquin and freshman Diego LaTorre each picking up a pair of wins. Paquin won the 200 Freestyle and LaTorre won the 50 Freestyle. Both swimmers teamed up with freshmen Joe Ancel and Kyle Baney to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Ancel finished second in the 100 Breaststroke and teamed with LaTorre, senior Joe Perkins and junior Kasey Cross to finish second in the 200 Medley Relay. Cross, Paquin and Perkins teamed with sophomore Donnie Spencer to finish second in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Junior Madeline Ketchem picked up three runner-up finishes, touching the wall second in the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle, and teaming with senior Elizabeth Ancel, junior Erin Miller and sophomore Grace Fulwider for second place in the 200 Medley Relay.

Ancel finished second in the 50 Freestyle, and Fulwider teamed with sophomore Madde Jordan to finish 2-3 in the 100 Breaststroke.

The Bulldog Girls (3-1) and Boys (0-1) will return to action on Tuesday, December 6, hosting crosstown rival Avon at 5:30 p.m. at the Bulldog Aquatic Center.
