Baseball Defeats Zionsville

The varsity baseball team completed an HCC sweep against Zionsville last night beating the Eagles 4-0.  Tyler Houston started the game for the Bulldogs and kept the Eagles scoreless as the first three innings went to the defense.  The Bulldogs broke the 0-0 tie in the top of the 4th inning with a Haden Shipman solo home run to leftfield.  Houston blanked the Eagles again in bottom of the inning and the Bulldogs snuck another run across the plate as Kyle Yeager scored on an infield dribbler by Mike Hartnagel.  Houston ended his evening with a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the fifth to keep the Dogs up 2-0.  Junior David LeClerc came in to pitch the 6th and perfectly set up closer, but not before the Bulldogs scored Cody Gill and Garrett Isch in the top of the 7th on a Mike Hartnagel single and a Tyler Houston sacrifice fly.  Haden Shipman threw the seventh and collected the save.    Offensively, Garrett Isch went 2-3 with two 2Bs and Mike Hartnagel had 2 RBIs in the game.  Junior Tyler Houston's impressive 20 game hit-streak (Houston has had a hit in every game this season) unfortunately came to an end.
