Lesko Commits to Iowa State

Brownsburg High School senior, Sydney Lesko, commits to run Cross Country and Track for Iowa State. Lesko is looking forward to finishing her senior track season at Brownsburg High School this spring before switching to collegiate competition for the Cyclones.

Cross Country Coach Bret Neylon had this to say about Lesko, "Sydney Lesko will be sorely missed here at Brownsburg High School, but will be a valuable asset to the Iowa State University cross country program. Sydney has amassed quite an impressive resume in her 4 years of Bulldog cross country, including Academic All-State Honors, a top 15 state finalist medal, All-State Honors, and being named team captain. This is only the 2nd Brownsburg cross country runner in the past two decades to earn a Division I scholarship."

Girls' Track Coach Ken Schnepp, added, "It is a select few students who achieve athletically and academically what Sydney has in her time at Brownsburg High School. A state finalist in track the last three years, Sydney played a key role in the Lady Bulldogs 4x800 relay that placed 3rd in the state meet in 2011! She is an exceptional runner as evidenced by her ability to perform at top levels in mid-distance as well as long distance events. Iowa State inherits one of the top runners ever to come out of Brownsburg! The entire track staff and team wish her the best!"
