Runner-up Finish at Park Tudor Invite

On Saturday, the Girls' Varsity Tennis Team competed in the 8-Team Park Tudor Invitational.  The tournament fielded 4 ranked teams:  South Bend St. Joseph (#4), Park Tudor (#6), Guerin Catholic (#7), and Fort Wayne Canterbury (#14), and the Bulldogs finished in second place behind South Bend St. Joseph!  It was an amazing full-team effort.  Kara Mehringer was runner-up at #1 singles, defeating Guerin and Heritage Christian before falling to a tough South Bend St. Joseph opponent.  Morgan Bettner also made it to the championship round, beating Park Tudor and Heritage on her way to the finals.  Morgan lost to South Bend St. Joe in a tight match with a tie-break.  At three singles, Hailey Blood defeated Fort Wayne Canterbury, lost her second round to South Bend St. Joe, and finished with a win over Lawrence North to take third.  The number one Doubles Tandem of Caitlin Preda and Payton Haygood took out South Bend St Joe in the first round, lost to Guerin in the second round, and then finished off Canterbury in strong form.  The number two Doubles Duo of Kristina Petrovic and Lily House won over Hertitage in round one, lost a tough second match to St Joe, but ended with a dominating victory over Lawrence North to take third place.  It was a terrific performance for the Tennis 'Dogs.  Next match will be at Noblesville on Tuesday with varsity and JV starting at 5:00 p.m
