Bulldogs Go Undefeated at Brownsburg Invite

On Saturday, the Varsity Girls' Tennis Team won the Brownsburg Invitational Tournament.  In the first round, the Bulldogs defeated Western Boone 5-0.  Kara Mehringer, Morgan Bettner, and Hailey Blood had commanding victories in singles' play.  The three lost a total of three games.  The doubles tandems of Kristina Petrovic/Lily House and Tiffany Tran/Jen Barton marched to quick straight set wins.  Corinne Lucas kept the match perfect, winning at the #1 JV spot.

In the second round against Columbus East, the 'Dogs prevailed 5-0.  Mehringer, Bettner, and Blood were once again quite efficient and once again only lost three total games.  The Doubles 'Dogs of Caitlin Preda/Payton Haygood and Kristina Petrovic/Lily House lost one total game.

Grace Suiter claimed the JV singles' point.

In the final round, the Bulldogs posted another 5-0 shut-out against West Lafayette Harrison.  Again, Mehringer, Bettner, and Blood dominated on the singles' courts.  Teammates Preda/Haygood and Petrovic/House played nearly flawless doubles!  Additionally, the BHS Tennis Girls collected $250 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, which was matched by BHS Athletics for a total donation of $500.  What a terrific day at the courts!  Next match for both Varsity and JV is Monday at Westfield at 5:00 pm.
