Girls' Hoops Defeat #5 Lebanon

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team beat the 5th ranked team in 3A, Lebanon, on the road, 55-51.  The Dogs played great defense, holding the Tigers to 2 points in the first quarter.   The Dogs were up, 11-2.  The Dogs continued to dominate on the defensive end of the Court, as Reilly Olmstead and Zhane Roper scored for the Dogs. The Dogs entered half time up, 22-12.  The Tigers showed why they are ranked 5th in the state with some toughness and resilience in the second half.  The Dogs battled on the boards and maintained their poise.  The Dogs were up at the end of the third, 32-27.  The fourth quarter was a scoring frenzy by both teams with the Dogs scoring 23 and the Tigers scoring 24 points in the quarter.  

The Dogs are fired up and ready for the start of sectional play after an exciting win over a very talented Lebanon squad.

Chazney Jones scored a team high 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.  Reilly Olmstead scored 16 points and grabbed 6 boards.  Aliyah Walker added 12 points and pulled down 17 boards.  Zhane Roper chipped in 7 points.  Hannah Linville and Daija Middlebrook did a great job defending Lebanon's all state scorer.  

It was an awesome team victory!

The team will take a few days off before facing Terre Haute South in the first round of the IHSAA Sectional Tournament.
