Bulldogs Defeat Lawrence Central

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team will head into Christmas break on a 5 game winning streak, after defeating Lawrence Central 57-34.  The Dogs got off to a quick start scoring 12 straight points in the first two minutes of action, before the Bears hit a basket.  The Dogs were up 17-8 at the end of the first quarter.  The Bears attacked the basket in the second quarter and cut the Dogs' lead to 7 at half, 29-22.  The Dogs were aggressive in the third quarter, scoring 17 points, mostly in the paint and at the free throw line.  The Dogs continued to build their lead as they played great D and dominated the boards.  The Dogs were up after three, 46-31.  The Dogs held the Bears to 3 fourth quarter points to finish the game strong.

The Dogs had very balanced scoring.  Chazney Jones scored a team high 11 points.  Chazney also grabbed 6 boards.  Zhane Roper added 9 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.  Reilly Olmstead and Hannah Linville each scored 8 points.  Hannah was a perfect 5 of 5 from the free throw line.  Aliyah Walker, Daija Middlebrook and Tyon McKenzie each scored 6 points.  Daija was 4 of 4 from the free throw line.  Devin Courtney pulled down 5 rebounds and chipped in 4 points.  

The girls will enjoy the holidays with their families before facing Greenwood at home on December 30th.
