Lady Dogs Take on Two Top Ten Teams

Lady Dogs Take on Two Top Ten Teams

The Varsity Girls' Basketball Team faced the 8th and 9th ranked teams in 4A this weekend.

On Friday night, the Dogs faced a high flying Noblesville squad.  After digging themselves a big hole in the first half, the Dogs played the Millers even in the second cutting the lead to 15 at one point.  The Millers were too much for the Dogs to handle - operating strong on all cylinders and defeating the Bulldogs 78-51.  Aliyah Walker scored a team high 14 points and grabbed 10 boards.  Devin Courtney added 13 points and pulled down 4 rebounds.  Reilly Olmstead scored 9 points and pulled down 6 rebounds.  Tyon McKenzie scored 5 points and had 5 rounds.

The Dogs regained their composure to face #8 Mooresville on Saturday night.  The Dogs again got off to a slow start, trailing 10-17 after the first quarter.  The Dogs ramped up their D in the second to gain the lead by half, 29-28.  The Pioneers outscored the Bulldogs by 12 in the third quarter to regain the lead heading into the fourth, 38-49.  The final quarter was an even match with the Pioneers defeating the Dogs 64-53.  It was a great team effort against a very good Mooresville squad.  Four Bulldogs scored in double figures:  sophomores Reilly Olmstead and Devin Courtney tied for team high scoring honors with 12 points each.  Junior Aliyah Walker scored 11 points and grabbed 13 boards.  Freshman Tyon McKenzie scored 10 points, hitting 5 of 7 from the field.  Hannah Linville did a tremendous job playing tough D on Mooresville top scorer
