Bulldogs Over Artesians

The Varsity Girls Basketball team had a great comeback win last night against Martinsville, winning 71-61.  The teams traded baskets in the first quarter with the Artesians leading by one after the first quarter, 12-13.  Martinsville outscored the Dogs by 9 in the second quarter, the Dogs trailed at the half, 24-34.  The Dogs came out of the half with a lot of heart and determination.  Aliyah Walker led the charge, scoring 10 of her game high 22 points in the third quarter.  The Dogs poured in 28 third quarter points.  The score was tied at 52 entering the final quarter of play.  The Dogs continued to play with a lot of heart in the fourth as they played great D and pushed the ball down the court.  Devin Courtney stepped up and hit two big 3's down the stretch to secure the win.  

Reilly Olmstead scored 16 points, hitting 6 of 7 from the free throw line.  Reilly dished out 3 assists.  Devin finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and a steal.  Zhane Roper scored 7 points and grabbed 5 boards.  Aliyah grabbed a game high 12 rebounds.  Daija Middlebrook was a spark off the bench, grabbed 4 rebounds and played awesome D on Martinsville's point guard. Chazney Jones was 4 of 5 from the field, scoring 8 points in her first game of the season.  

It was a great team effort!

The Dogs will travel to Carmel on Friday night.
