Boys' and Girls' XC Runs at Plainfield Invite

The boys' cross-country squad turned in a solid performance Saturday at the Plainfield Relays, placing 6th out of 17 teams.  The Bulldogs' top finishers, 7th overall, were Seth Webster and Hari Sathyamurthy and were followed closely by the pair of Elijah Wagner and Marcus Fierek, who was named Dog of the Meet along with Colter Kaneversky.  In the JV race, freshman Noah Gossett was the top Bulldog finisher.The boys' cross-country squad turned in a solid performance Saturday at the Plainfield Relays, placing 6th out of 17 teams.  The Bulldogs' top finishers, 7th overall, were Seth Webster and Hari Sathyamurthy and were followed closely by the pair of Elijah Wagner and Marcus Fierek, who was named Dog of the Meet along with Colter Kaneversky.  In the JV race, freshman Noah Gossett was the top Bulldog finisher.

The Girls' Cross Country team reached their goal of a top 5 finish Saturday as they placed 5th out of 15 very strong teams at the Plainfield Relays. In their 2nd of 3 Hokum Karem style meets the girls paired up and made major improvements over last season's results. The top pair of Julia Popenfoose and Cassidy Brown made the medal stand among some of the state's best runners, placing 10th out of 66 pairs as they completed the 6 total miles in just over 33 minutes. The freshman duo of Jessica Morris and Sydni Montgomery came in at 19th averaging well under 7:00 for each of their 6 miles. Brooke U'Ren and Laura Sanders were right behind in 21st,also breaking the 7:00 per mile average. Also contributing to the score with great finishes were the pairs of Alex Smock and Rachel Graham, along with Kiertyn U'Ren and Olivia Zoog.
 
In the open 2 mile race sophomore Brianna Channon lead the Bulldogs placing 14th out of 182 competitors with a time of 14:42. In her first cross country race ever, Diana Medlen went out fast and ended with a very solid 20th place finish in 15:07. Alli Kent, Caroline Wagoner, Hailey Bronger, Jennifer Bowles, Heidi Mitchener, and Helen Prinz were just a handful of Bulldogs with very nice early season races as well.
