Track Team Is Runner Up at Plainfield Sectional

Thursday night the boys' track team traveled to Plainfield High School for the IHSAA sectional of 14 teams. Brownsburg placed a strong second, led by Kyle Steinbaker in the 110 and 300 hurdles, placing second and first in both events respectively, and breaking both school records in the process! Wyatt Rondot cruised to victory in the 1600 m run, followed by Elliot Shaw in fourth place. Ben Hendricks, Andrew Maloney, Daniel Purdy and Elliot Shaw placed second in the 4x800 relay as did Kurt Darling, Torrey Nibbs, Matt Phillips, and Purdy in the 4 x 400 relay. John Massingale, Latrelle Bandstra, Todd Nibbs and Dillion Easley placed third in the 4x100 relay. Purdy ran to victory in the 800 meter run; Nibbs was runner-up in the high jump; and Easley and Darling took the top two spots in the pole vault. Matt Phillips qualified for Regionals in the 400 meter dash, while Ben Hendricks crushed the field in the 3200 meter run. The Dogs put up a great fight and will continue to move forward at next weeks Regional.
