Bulldogs Finish 5th Place in HCC Boys Track Meet

The boys' track team ran to a fifth-place finish in the conference meet Friday. Dillon Easley was the lone Bulldog champion, vaulting 14 feet in the pole vault. The most exciting event of the evening, however, was the 4 x 800 meter relay, where the Bulldogs almost came away champions with their third-place finish, breaking the school record by a whopping four seconds. The team consisted of Wyatt Rondot, Elliot Shaw, Andrew Maloney, and Daniel Purdy. This broke last year's mark that was set in the state finals. Also turning in outstanding top three performances were Kyle Steinbaker in the 300 meter hurdles, Daniel Purdy in the 800 meter run, and Kurt Darling's runner-up finish in the pole vault. Jeremy Shupperd had two personal record performances in the high jump and 110 m hurdles; Matt Phillips had a personal record in the 400 meter dash; and the Bulldog throwers DeVon Grundy and Philip Gegner had big personal records in the shot put and discus.
