No. 14 Boys' Swimming & Diving continues winning ways; takes 1st at Floyd Central Invite

The No. 14 Brownsburg Boys' Swimming & Diving team extended its winning streak to five meets on Saturday, Dec. 19 with a convincing win in the Floyd Central Invite, scoring 657 points in the process. Host Floyd Central finished second with 500 points, Boonville finished third with 444 points, North Harrison finished fourth with 282 points and Southwestern finished in fifth with 60 points.

The Dogs came in first in every swimming event but one, with multiple Dogs winning an impressive four events on the meet. 

Senior Austin Kehr was one of those Brownsburg swimmers to win in four events as he was a member of the winning 200 Medley team (1:38.27) along with JJ Schmidt, Michael Williams and Caleb Peschke. Kehr would go on to win the 50 Free (21.41), 100 Free (46.75) and as a member od the 200 Free Relay team (1:28.10) with Peschke, Schmidt and Jake Johnson.

Johnson was the other Dog to win four events as a member of the 200 Free relay team, 200 Free (1:49.19), 100 Fly (54.58) and the 400 Relay team (3:23.74) along with Jamie Cameron, Scott Hasselbrinck and Lee Grimes.

Other individual wins were Peschke in the 200 IM (2:02.81), Schmidt in the 100 Back (54.85) and Williams in the 100 Breast (1:03.33.

Dogs take a two-week break from competition to focus on holiday training gearing up for runs at a conference, sectional and state championship. Brownsburg next takes the pool on the road at HCC foe Franklin Central on Jan. 5. The meet is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
