No. 14 Boys' Swimming & Diving takes down Orioles, claims Rotary Bell

By Drew Sandifer

The No. 14 Brownsburg Boys' Swimming & Diving team bounced back from being especially shorthanded last week to dominate conference rival Avon to secure the B&O Rotary Bell once again. The Dogs outscored the Orioles 128 to 42 on the night.

After some time out of the pool, senior Austin Kehr returned with wins in the 50 and 100 Yard Frees with times of 21.14 and 47.47 seconds, respectively. Kehr's return to the winning column was the same story for junior Jake Johnson with a personal-best 52.75 in the 100 Yard Fly and clocked in at 1:01.39 in his win in the Boys 100 Yard Breast event.

Sophomore JJ Schmidt once again broke his own school record with a time of 53.03. Schmidt has broken the school record three times already this season. Senior Lee Grimes also picked up a win in the 200 Free with a time of 1:53.33.

Other winners on the night were Jamie Cameron, Brayden Walters, Michael Williams and Scott Hasselbrinck.

The Dogs will next take the pool at the Bulldog Relays at the Brownsburg Aquatic Center on Saturday, Dec. 12.
