No. 14 Boys' Swimming & Diving win opening meet; break 3 school records

The No. 14 Brownsburg Boys' Swimming & Diving won their opening meet of the season at the Brownsburg Invite against Brebeuf, Cathedral and Cardinal Ritter. The Dogs also impressed by breaking three school records on the night.

Senior Austin Kehr set a school record in the 100-meter Butterfly with a time 0f 50.62 seconds. Kehr also was on the winning 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle relay teams. Sophomore JJ Schmidt also broke the school record in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 53.3 seconds in his first high school meet. 

The team of Jake Johnson, Austin Kehr, Caleb Peschke and JJ Scmidt also broke the school record in the 200-meter medlay realy with a time of 1:35.46.

Senior Myles Grant won the diving event of the meet with his personal record. His score in Monday's meet also places him as one of the top 10 scores in school history.

The Brownsburg Invite also served as the Dogs' Senior Night for the Class of 2021. The Boys' Swimming & Diving teams recognized their six seniors: Myles Grant, Lee Grimes, Scott Hasselbrinck, Austin Kehr, Avarey Newman and Mithran Periassamy

The Dogs are back in action on Saturday Nov. 28 with a meet at Fishers against the host Tigers and Westfield.
