Boys' Swim/Dive Captures a Win Over Brebeuf

The Bulldog Boys Swimming & Diving Team wrapped up its regular season with a 123-62 win over the visiting Brebeuf Braves on Tuesday night, and will ride a seven dual-meet winning streak into State tournament competition.
Sophomores Joe Ancel (100 Freestyle) and Kyle Baney (50 Freestyle) and freshmen Joe Myhre (200 IM) and Vince Partlow (100 Butterfly) were all individual winners on the night and each contributed to a pair of first place relays to finish as triple winners.
Ancel and Partlow teamed with junior Bradley Green and sophomore Diego La Torre to win the 200 Medley Relay. Ancel, Baney and Myhre teamed with sophomore Chad Hale to win the 200 Freestyle Relay, with the team of juniors Jared Krug, Donnie Spencer and Albert Turk and sophomore Hunter Dahlke finishing in second place. And Baney, Myhre, Partlow and Turk took home the win in the 400 Freestyle Relay with the team of Dahlke, Green, Krug and junior Grant Anspach finishing in second.
Green contributed an individual win in the 100 Backstroke, and additional strong swims were turned in by Anspach (500 Freestyle), La Torre (200 IM), senior Nathan Brooks (200 Freestyle) and sophomore Adam Moll (100 Butterfly).
The diving trio of senior Grason Horvath and juniors Kyle Johnson and Caleb Windler picked up valuable team points with a 2-3-4 finish.
The Bulldog boys (8-1) and girls (8-3) both return to action at the IHSAA Sectional. The girls will compete this Thursday (5:30pm) and Saturday, January 31 and February 2 at North Central while the Bulldog Aquatic Center will host boys Sectionals on Thursday and Saturday, February 14 and 16.
