Baseball Moves Forward in Sectional Play By Defeating the Hawks

The varsity baseball team advanced to the second round of the IHSAA sectional tournament with an 8-4 win over Decatur Central last night.  Junior Tyler Houston threw a complete game giving up only 1 earned run on 9 strikeouts and allowing 7 hits.  Offensively, the Bulldogs continued to stay hot at the plate putting up 11 hits against 2 Decatur Central pitchers.  Mike Hartnagel led the offensive charge by going 2-3 with 2 triples.  On top of a great pitching performance, Tyler Houston went 2-3 at the plate with 4 RBIs.  Senior Haden Shipman was 2-2 with 2 RBIs and junior Sam Comer went 3-4 on the night.  The Bulldogs will now move on to play Southport on Monday morning at 10am.
