Bulldogs Open Season with Win Over Giants

The Bulldogs opened their season with a big win last night beating the Ben Davis Giants 12-0.  After a slow start the first two innings, senior Mike Hartnagel opened up the scoring with a 2-run HR to centerfield.  The following inning, senior Haden Shipman followed that up with a 3-run HR to centerfield.  Shipman and Hartnagel combined for 6 of the Dogs 12 runs on the night, while junior Tyler Houston and senior Hunter Leum added 4 more RBI's on 3 hits.  On the mound, the Bulldogs pitching staff combined for a 5 inning, 3-hit shutout.  Junior Ty McCoy started the game, junior Tyler Houston, who collected the win on the night, threw the third and fourth innings, and sophomore Caleb Sampen finished the fifth.  All three pitchers combined for 8 K's on the evening.  The Bulldogs open up HCC play this Wednesday at McCutcheon
