Baseball Loses a Heartbreaker to HCC Foe Noblesville

The varsity baseball team lost a heartbreaker to HCC opponent Noblesville by the score of 6-5.  The Dogs climbed to an early 2-1 lead after the first off of 4 lead off hits from Mike Hartnagel, Tyler Houston, Haden Shipman, and Hunter Leum.  The Millers were able to put up 5 runs on the Dogs in the 4th only to have their lead brought back to one in the 7th.  In the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs were able to load the bases and bring the score back to a one run game, but unfortunately, the Miller pitcher was able to shut the door.  On the mound, junior David LeClerc pitched 3 2/3 innings w/5 strikeouts and senior Dalton Carter finished the game allowing only 3 more hits for the Millers.  Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by junior Sam Comer, who went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored, and junior Tyler Houston, who went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a run scored.  The Bulldogs head up to Noblesville tonight for game two of the HCC matchup.
