Baseball Loses a Heartbreaker to HCC Foe Noblesville

The varsity baseball team lost a heartbreaker to HCC opponent Noblesville by the score of 6-5.  The Dogs climbed to an early 2-1 lead after the first off of 4 lead off hits from Mike Hartnagel, Tyler Houston, Haden Shipman, and Hunter Leum.  The Millers were able to put up 5 runs on the Dogs in the 4^th only to have their lead brought back to one in the 7^th.  In the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs were able to load the bases and bring the score back to a one run game, but unfortunately, the Miller pitcher was able to shut the door.  On the mound, junior David LeClerc pitched 3 2/3 innings w/5 strikeouts and senior Dalton Carter finished the game allowing only 3 more hits for the Millers.  Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by junior Sam Comer, who went 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored, and junior Tyler Houston, who went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a run scored.  The Bulldogs head up to Noblesville tonight for game two of the HCC matchup.
